Pinchmill Primary Behaviour Statement
Our Behaviour Statement
At our school, we believe that positive behaviour helps everyone to feel safe, happy and ready to learn. Our behaviour expectations are built around three simple values:
Respect – Ready – Responsible
Respect: We treat everyone with kindness, listen to others and value their feelings, ideas and differences. We use polite language and take care of our school and the people in it.
Ready: We come to school prepared and ready to learn. We listen carefully, follow instructions, join in positively and give our best effort.
Responsible: We take responsibility for our choices and actions. We look after our belongings and our environment, make safe choices and understand that our actions can affect others.
We have high expectations for all children and believe that every child has the potential to achieve and thrive. We recognise that we are all unique and that children may need different levels and types of support to help them meet these expectations. We are committed to understanding each child as an individual and providing the appropriate support, strategies and tools to help them succeed.
We understand that behaviour is communication. When a child is struggling with their behaviour, we will seek to understand what they may be communicating and what support they need. We will work with children to help them understand their emotions, develop positive behaviours, learn strategies for managing challenges and make safe and successful choices.
We recognise and celebrate children who demonstrate our values and encourage everyone to be a positive role model. When things go wrong, we support children to reflect on their choices, learn from their mistakes and put things right. Our approach is supportive and restorative, while maintaining clear and consistent expectations for all.
Together, we create a school community where everyone is respected, everyone is ready to learn and everyone takes responsibility for making our school a positive place to be.
