Our Intent for Forest School Sessions

At our school, we believe that Forest School provides children with valuable opportunities to learn, explore and grow beyond the classroom. Our Forest School sessions aim to develop children’s confidence, independence and resilience through regular, hands-on experiences in a natural environment.

We intend for children to:

· Develop a sense of curiosity, wonder and respect for the natural world.

· Build confidence and self-esteem by trying new activities and taking appropriate risks.

· Develop independence, perseverance and problem-solving skills.

· Work collaboratively, communicate effectively and build positive relationships with others.

· Develop practical skills through exploring, creating, building and investigating.

· Understand how to care for and protect their environment.

· Experience the benefits of outdoor learning for their physical and emotional wellbeing.

· Apply and deepen learning from across the curriculum in meaningful, real-life contexts.

Through Forest School, we want every child to feel a sense of belonging, achievement and connection with nature. Our aim is to nurture confident, capable and curious learners who are willing to challenge themselves, learn from their experiences and appreciate the world around them.

Foxes Class launched our new Forest School in the Autumn Term 2025.
