PE - WEDNESDAYS AND FRIDAYS
This week in Maths, The Incredibles class based their learning around the book ‘How many seeds are in a pumpkin?’ by Margaret McNamara.
The children had three different sized pumpkins (small, medium and large) and predicted which pumpkin they thought would have the most amount of seeds. The children in groups then scraped out the pumpkin pulp and the seeds and began to separate them.
The children then counted each pumpkins amount of seeds in different ways (2’s, 5’s, 7’s, 8’s and 10’s) to find out which pumpkin had the greatest number of seeds. We then compared the results and the children created brilliant bar charts about which pumpkin had the most amount of seeds!
Well done Incredibles, we had so much fun!
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
